Wire straightening precedes cutting. Poor straightening means inaccurate cut lengths. Surui offers 3 straightening methods for different scenarios.
1. Pressure Roller Straightening (Dual-Row Standard)
Principle: The wire passes through two sets of staggered rollers, repeatedly bending to relieve internal stress.
Best for: Regular wires of 1–6 mm diameter
Pros:
- Simple structure, easy maintenance
- Suitable for most metal wires
- Lower cost
Cons:
- Less effective on severely bent wire
- Rollers need replacement when worn
Standard on Surui M-04 / D-01 / D-02.
2. Rotary Drum Straightening
Principle: The wire passes through a high-speed rotating drum and is straightened by centrifugal force.
Best for: 1–4 mm wires with significant bending
Pros:
- Excellent for coiled wire
- Non-contact, no surface scratching
Cons:
- Relatively noisy
- Not suitable for thick wire
Optional on Surui S-02.
3. Multi-Roller Precision Straightening (15 Stages)
Principle: The wire passes through 15 sets of precision rollers, progressively relieving stress to achieve straightness of 0.1 mm/m.
Best for: High-precision applications, 1–12 mm wire
Pros:
- Best straightness
- Ideal for precision parts (mold ejector pins, electronic leads)
- Full wire diameter range
Cons:
- Complex structure, higher cost
- Parameter adjustment requires experience
Standard on Surui SR12.
Comparison Table
| Method | Wire Dia. | Straightness | Model | Characteristic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pressure roller | 1–6 mm | 0.3 mm/m | M-04 / D Series | Versatile, economical |
| Rotary drum | 1–4 mm | 0.2 mm/m | S-02 (optional) | Good for coils |
| Multi-roller | 1–12 mm | 0.1 mm/m | SR12 | Highest precision |
How to Choose?
- Regular hardware parts: pressure roller is sufficient (M-04 / D Series)
- Coiled wire: choose rotary drum (S-02 optional)
- Precision parts (mold pins, electronic leads): choose multi-roller (SR12)
